Letter from the Mayor of Pembroke:

Welcome to the Town of Pembroke’s Website.  I would like to personally thank you for visiting us here online.

Pembroke is my home.  Having grown up in Giles County, I have chosen to raise my own family here in Pembroke, located in such a beautiful part of the state.

The natural beauty of the Cascades, Castle Rock, and the New River is unsurpassed.  These are just a few sites we invite you to stop and enjoy while traveling through Giles County.

Not only is there natural beauty here to enjoy but also Pembroke has the smallest operating library in the state of Virginia.  The library is still in it’s original building that was constructed in the 1880’s portrays it’s  historical style of old. The building was once located in front of the old Pembroke Hotel, is now located between the Celco Community Credit Union and the Town Hall. Although the outside is of old the inside houses modern books and technology having two computers for public use.

I invite you to stop and shop in our small town.  The businesses of our town offer great hometown dining, shopping for whatever your needs may be and our outfitters offer guided fishing trips on the New River along with kayaking or rafting thru the rapids. You can enjoy a pleasurable walk or hike to the Cascades waterfalls or trout fish in our streams. If you are interested in fine lodging you can check out Mountain Lake Hotel while you visit our area and if golf is your pleasure check out our 18 hole course at Castle Rock Golf course just minutes from the center of town.

In closing no matter what your personal tastes you can be assured of a pleasant experience while visiting our small town. I welcome you to stop and give us a look.

Sincerely,

James D ‘Dusty’ Stump, Mayor
